Final Thoughts

I went into Digital Sketchbook blindly. All I knew was that I needed this course to get an art studio minor.   This class pushed me out of my comfort zone many, many, times. Although it was challenging at times, I am grateful for the opportunity to learn different software programs like Premier Pro and Photoshop. I feel that I have gained valuable skills that I will be able to draw upon in the future. Thanks to all the examples David provides in the project outline, my understanding of modern art has increased. Artists that stood out were John Cage, Water Walk, Christian Marclay, Guitar Drag, Krzysztof Wodiczko, Lincoln Memorial, KC Adams, Perception, and David Hockney.

I enjoyed getting to know my classmates. I love that the format of art courses allows for us to meet and interact with classmates frequently. I have met and gotten to know way more people through the five studio classes I took compared to the 35 plus lecture classes. Best of luck to everyone in their future studies. (Take some arky classes!)

Huge thanks to David and Nahid for being supportive and patient instructors!
