Project 3 - Finished Video

Here is my completed project! I had a lot of fun filming, editing (and starring) in the video. Enjoy!

The idea for this video was born from my experiments in class. I had fun playing with the different transitions that Adobe Premier offered. I thought I could combine my Tae Kwon Do techniques and the transitions. For example, as I kicked, the transition would go across the screen at the same time. When I got to filming, I decided to include an outfit change for some variety. I filmed 14 short videos about 1-2 minutes each of me doing kicks, punches, sparring techniques and patterns. I set up my camera on a tripod and kept the exact same background. Getting the camera set up was the trickiest part. When I filmed, I would start the video, run into the frame, do my moves, and walk back to the camera to end the video. I used the sports setting for the video.

All my editing was done using Microsoft Clipchamp because it had a wider variety of transitions. I imported my videos, cut them up into smaller sections of one technique and then ordered them to create the final product. As I was moving clips around, I thought I would utilize the two outfits I filmed with and make my video a story about two people who have a friendly skills competition. I experimented with transitions, speed, adding text, and cutting the videos at different times. I chose not to add sound because I felt my video did not require it. It felt like a silent movie, so I leaned into that aspect.

Overall, I learned more about filming and editing videos. It was also a chance for me to study my TKD techniques. My favourite parts are the end credits!
